This was my first real experience with Fuentes Libres and it was interesting to say the least. This "grupo" (Fuentes only accepts groups of ladies with 12 or more. Each lady gets a loan of $2000 pesos and has to pay every week. The first payment is $180 and it goes up from there. If one member of the group cannot pay their part of the loan back, the other members have to make up the difference.) meets in a cocina colectiva that only has an oven and something similar to a butchers block. When we finally arrived, the group was waiting with their money and tarjetas in hand. We collected the money and headed home.
